It is true that many a times; relationships too require high maintenance cost and expenses which sometimes are looked as extravagance. The decade is almost devastated with the blows of debts and national deficiencies which drove us to seek help of several debt settlement companies and debt consolidation programs. We are living in an economically volatile environment where every aspects of life seem to change with the dynamism of wealth acquisition with the ever-fluctuating financial status of people. Being into a relationship or an affair in this recent age too depends upon a lot of monetary comprehension. There existed a time when being in love with a person regardless of all conditions and expectations was considered as a divine thing, but at present, being into a relationship has very minimum things to do with love or concern, and the same sometime is taken as a status symbol or just as a source which provides a sense of security and confidence and at times act as an ego booster. And these so-called love relationships become more painful when it proves to be more than just expensive to both the partners.
Financial hardships start to appear when couples reject to understand the importance of wealth acquisition for mere and fake display of affection to each other by gifting expensive gifts to each other, or by dining out at otherwise unaffordable restaurants and going overboard with expressing their love and care in all possible extravagant ways; just to find themselves at the brink of bankruptcy when the story comes to an end. This is the time when their rendezvous with credit card debts and overwhelming personal loans outstanding begins, and often ends at a sour separation from their hard earned and often-insulted money, all on the name of love or maintenance of a relationships that demanded too much of everything expect true love, compassion or understanding from both the partners. Here I am not emphasizing singlehood or the importance of staying out of any relationship, but am just asking the generation to attend more to their finances than to people who make false claims of love and companionship at the cost of extravagant gifts and returns from their partners.
